Frequently asked questions

Do we offer boat dives?

We are a shore diving company in Lahaina, however we have partnered with a dive boat that leaves from Kihei at 6:30am. Boat dives are available as an addition to any dive package for $250.00pp.

Is transportation provided?

Not at this time. We meet all divers at each dive site with all everything divers need. Divers meet/follow us to the second dive site in the own vehicles.

What time do we meet for dives?

We meet at 7:30am for our morning dives. Privately guided dives make their own schedule.

Our twilight and night dives meet ~2 hours before sunset.

How big are our group sizes?

Larger group sizes take away from the overall dive experience, so we limit our groups to 4 people. ***Exceptions are made for large groups. Please contact us to arrange your dive experience.

How deep are the dive sites?

Maui’s shoreline is shallow with a maximum depth of ~45-60ft for certified divers. For our multi-day divers, we have deeper dives as options.

Do I need to know how to swim to be able to scuba dive?

Yes! You need to be comfortable in the water and capable of swimming 300ft/100m. It is also beneficial to be able to calmly kick, with long legs, through the water.

Is the gear heavy?

Yes. The total weight of standard scuba gear is between 55lbs - 75lbs - depending the density of the diver, exposure suit thickness, comfortability in the water, etc.

Who carries all the gear to the water?

We expect our divers to be capable of carrying their own gear into and out of the water. Some exceptions may apply, but must be cleared by us first and may require an extra fee.

What should we bring with us?

There is no need to bring anything but excitement and respect for the ocean, unless you would like to bring any of your own gear of course!

Many divers bring water and snacks for surface intervals. A towel. If you wear sunscreen, it must be mineral-based. If you don’t have any, please ask us! We carry Stream2Sea.

Can a snorkeler tag along with the divers?

Snorkelers can always join/or swim above the divers, however we DO NOT offer supervised snorkel tours at this time. Our focus is devoted to our divers experience and safety.

What if I wear glasses?

We do not offer prescription lens masks at this time. You will need to bring your own mask with the correct lens.

There is snorkel shops at many locations that you can pick one up at!
