Dive with a purpose

Be part of the solution while scuba diving in Maui!

As scuba divers we have a unique opportunity to make a difference, to help improve the health of our planet, if we choose, because we are the only people that have eyes on what happens underwater and we only make up 0.00077% of the global population.

Our ecotour dive packages offer more than just scuba diving. These packages are educational experienc We will start our day with an educational session about the short presentation on the topic of your ecotour, which will include the importance of the data we will collect and how to collect it. Then we will do two dives (sites determined based on your tour and water conditions). Following the dives, we report the data to the proper organization.

Gain the knowledge and skills to ignite your inner citizen scientist. help collect data for important research projects while enjoying beautiful shore dives.

Ecotour dive packages can be booked individually or together as part of a custom dive package.

To learn more about all the different animals you see underwater, we offer guided tours of the Maui Ocean Center with your dive guide for $75 pp (admission included).

Fish Count

Help monitor the health of Maui’s reefs

One fish, two blue fish, red fish, blue fish. How many fishies do you see?

One of the easiest methods to monitor the health of the marine ecosystem while diving is to simply count the total number of individual species on the reef. Prior to your dives, we will discuss some of the fish species that play a vital role in Maui’s marine ecosystem as well as some of our invasive species. We have started multiple transects at some of our dive sites to monitor the reef over time. This ecotour includes two scuba dives.
